Denise Sullivan, Owner, LMT
A few years ago I went through a lengthy period of depression and anxiety. It was especially difficult. A friend who had been through something similar suggested I treat myself to a massage once a month. She said it had given her a lot of relief from anxiety she had experienced. Well, I took her advice and I’ve been a massage convert ever since. I’ve always been pretty good with my hands so it occurred to me that massage therapy might be a good mid-life career choice for me, a second act as they say. Boy, was I right. I believe massage therapy is what I was always meant to do. It combines my interest in health, the medical field, entrepreneurship and people. I believe my life experience brings a strong element of empathy to my practice.
I graduated from the Madison School of Massage Therapy in April 2011. In September 2013, I became certified in pre- and perinatal massage after completing a four-day intensive class in Boston taught by Carole Osborne. In May 2014 I completed a similar 4-day intensive class on oncology massage taught by Tracy Walton in Atlanta, GA.
Tera Brackin, LMT
Hi! I’m Tera. I went to massage therapy school with my mom in order to benefit my little sister. I had never had a massage until my second week of school during class, but after that I was hooked! I had never thought of this career path until three weeks before enrolling, and it has taught me to take risks and enjoy the ride. I graduated from the Massage Therapy Institute in Decatur in 2017 and found that my favorite thing was to help people relax. Swedish is my specialty. I am currently a student at the University of North Alabama studying psychology and art, with plans to get my masters degree in counseling and, who knows, maybe a master of fine arts! I love learning and never want to stop. I also love whales, cartoons, and big fuzzy blankets. I look forward to meeting you!
Emily McGrath, LMT
Hello, my name is Emily McGrath. I’m originally from California. I lived a few years in Texas but after ten years in Alabama I consider it my home. Fun fact - I am a nature and animal lover! After graduating from Springville high school, I went on to UAB studying vocal performance and focusing on growing as an operatic vocalist. It wasn’t long before I had my son Bentley. That opened my eyes to many different options for health care and wellness. Like many therapists I have found massage therapy is something I’m absolutely passionate about. It has brought my personal life so much more peace and balance than I could have ever imagined. I received my training from Virginia College in Birmingham and graduated a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2015. I received certification as a manual lymphatic drainage therapist or CMLDT in 2017. I truly enjoyed almost 3 years of being a private practicing LMT in Birmingham. I’m excited to begin my new adventure here in Huntsville. I look forward to growing not only as a person but as a therapist.
Tess Karpowich, LMT
My name is Tess Karpowich and I have been a massage therapist for three and a half years. I am originally from Michigan and moved to Alabama when I was 14. I attended the University of West Florida where I majored in Hospitality Management and finished my degree after studying in Cheltenham England for my last semester. After college I took a few years to travel and find my passion, and eventually I fell in love with massage. I trained at Sunstate Academy in Fort Myers Florida specializing in Swedish Massage. My first day of massage school I broke down in tears because I was so thankful to have finally found something I was so passionate about, and I haven't looked back since. It is an absolute joy for me to come to work every day and be able to help people and spread many beautiful smiles!

Anastasia Morris, LMT
My name is Anastasia Morris. I'm originally from Arkansas but I have lived in Alabama for ten years. I received my training in Montgomery Alabama at the Montgomery School of Bodywork and Massage. I've been a licensed massage therapist for eleven years. All through high school I worked as a nursing assistant and thought I would one day be a nurse. I always have had a true passion for helping people so I thought it would be fitting. After high school though I began thinking of other career options where I could help others but in a more holistic way. That is how my journey into becoming a licensed massage therapist began. I love that I can give people an alternative to medicine and educate them on the many benefits that massage has to offer. I look forward to meeting you and tailoring a massage to fit your specific needs.
